There’s more to a handful of photos shared on media with smiling, seemingly happy, celebrity couple Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. The former “American Idol” judge has confirmed that she and husband Nick have “grown apart” through the years.

In an interview with “Watch What Happen Live” Sunday, Dec. 22, the singer and mother of two admitted that she was “alone” most of the time as she was dealing with pregnancy and birth of her children with TV host and husband, Nick Cannon.

Appearing in Andy Cohen’s show, Carey said that she was almost on her own while pregnant with Morrocan and Monroe. Enstars underscored that Mariah and Nick have “grown apart,” following their busy schedule.

The unexpected revelation made by Carrie resulted from an exchange she has had with a fan, asking if there’s a chance that the singer would have another child with her husband.

"I had preeclampsia; I had gestational diabetes, a really difficult pregnancy and I was alone most of the time," the singer was quoted as saying by Enstars.

But the singer-songwriter was quick to note that she has understood her husband she described as “busy” and “workaholic.”

She quipped as Mariah blew him a kiss turning to the camera, "We love Nick, but he's working!...He's the hardest working man in show business. Hi, Nick!"

Rumours that things are not peachy between Mariah and Nick emerged online when a source dished at the celebrity couple and the status of their marriage, pointed out as “rocky” and “hanging by a thread” by an unnamed source who talked to Star magazine.

"Mariah and Nick's marriage is hanging by a thread. Neither of them shows much interest in working through their problems," the unidentified source was quoted as saying by Enstarz, citing a separate report by Star Magazine.

The singer is known best for her hit song, Love Takes Time (1990), I Still Believe (2009) and “All I Want for Christmas is You” (1994). Nick for his part has made a name for himself as a TV and event host. Mariah Carey rose to fame for her soulful voice in the 1990s before marrying Nick Cannon in 2008. They have two children, Moroccan Scott Cannon and Monroe Cannon. Carey was previously married to Tommy Mottola from 1993-1998.
