LG officially announced the G4 Beat, the latest mid-range variant of its flagship LG G4 smartphone. The phone will be in the similar lines with the mother unit with slightly downgraded specs to make it more affordable. LG Newsroom reports that the phone will come with an advanced display, superior camera and striking design without the exceptional price.

As reported by LG Newsroom, the LG G4 Beat features a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display. It offers a full HD screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Till date LG has not offered such superior quality display before in this category. G4 featured a 5.5 inch display. G4 Beat is run by the Snapdragon 615 chipset that includes a 64-bit octa-core processor with 1.5 GB of RAM and 8GB native storage. The processor and RAM have also been slimmed down as compared to the LG G4. It also houses a 2300mAh removable battery according to Droid Life.

The device will shipped with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system with LG’s own LG UX 4.0. The smartphone will be integrated with 4G LTE with various connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.1, NFC, a- GPS and GLONASS.

The LG G4 Beat houses a rear camera of 8 MP supported by LG’s exclusive Color Spectrum Sensor and Laser Auto Focus. The 5 MP front camera is enabled with Gesture Interval Shot allowing the users to take four consecutive selfies with a single hand gesture. The handset will sport a higher 13 MP camera for Latin American markets. The phone will be available in silver, white and gold color options.

According to Tech Crunch the LG G4 Beat will make its debut in the ‘key markets’ in Europe and Latin America including France, Germany and Brazil this month. A global rollout is expected soon in markets like Canada, India, Russia, Singapore, South Africa and Turkey, among others.

“Too often, mid-tier phones sacrifice overall usability in order to include that one killer feature,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company as reported by LG Newsroom. He also added that, “Our goal with the LG G4 Beat was to create a phone that was not only well- balanced in terms of display, camera, performance and design but delivered terrific value and satisfaction,” reports NDTV.
