The early morning skies of Utah was lit up by a mysterious object. The object seemed to flash green, blue and white colours.

According to the Daily Mail, at about 4:40 a.m. on October 2, the object, a white ball, lit the sky silently. It seemed to stay for a few seconds. A few people reported it was a UFO, but an astronomer has said it was a burning meteor.

A video (below) was taken of the mysterious object that passed through the skies of Utah. One of the people who observed the sight wrote on UFO Stalker that at around 4.43 a.m. while having a cigarette in the backyard, he saw a bright green, white, blue light with a tail. He said that before he noticed the light, the sky was clear.

The object seemed to remind of him a falling star. Then he decided against it because it was larger and slower. He thought then that it could be a meteor. He thought of how big the object was and how it was traveling silently.

He said that the object was in the sky for about four to eight seconds. Then as it passed his field of mission, he explained that it either broke off into pieces or the tail seemed to spark up.

He then said that it was close so he expected to hear a crash because it was traveling in a downward direction. He thought he could go find it assuming that it would have come down very close to his place. Then he decided against it as he did not know what it was.

The ambassador of the NASA/ JPL solar system to Utah, Patrick Wiggins, explained that the object was flashing different colours, which was the typical characteristic feature of a bolide meteor. The bolide meteor combusts when its flight is ending.

Bolide meteors are caused by the cooling down of rock when it passes through the atmosphere. When a bolide meteor explodes, it breaks into pieces that reach the Earth. These pieces are said to be valuable.

Bolide meteor makes such a loud noise that it could crack windows or can roar like a freight train and explode loudly. Wiggins said that it appeared to be silent because it was light years away. According to the Web site, Challenge of UFOs, when meteoric fireballs are seen, they are usually mistaken as UFOs.

A Web site, UFO Case Book, claimed that in the Las Vegas UFO Crash which took place on April 18, 1962, the object that was noticed was at that time written off as a bolide meteor. But the witnesses claimed that it was actually a UFO.

According to the MUFON Web site, the states with highest UFO sightings with UFO Alert 3 ARE California, Texas, New York, Michigan, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. California has the highest number among all the states.
