The first look pictures from “The Last Kingdom” season 2 have been released online. They tease some of the scenes that viewers will get to see in the next chapter of Uhtred’s journey. The TV series will be introducing a few new characters this time around, and some of them will be working with the protagonist.

The following article contains spoilers based on the preview pictures of the popular BBC TV series. Fans who don’t want to know what happens next on the show are advised to stop reading.

The pictures [see below] mostly focus on Uhtred of Bebbanburg (Alexander Dreymon). The first picture is of him being handed his sword by the nun Hild (Eva Birthistle). There is a curious new character on a horse in the background, who appears to be riding with the protagonist.

The second picture is of a weary Uhtred in a town that seems to have just been attacked. It is not clear if he is fighting the Danes or a new enemy. The next picture is that of Alfred (David Dawson). The sickly king ponders over his worries in “The Last Kingdom” season 2 in candle light.

The last picture is again of Uhtred, and this appears to be right after a major battle. It looks like the protagonist is in a church building. Will the young warrior seek divine help in a battle he knows he can’t win?

Commenting on the post, one of the fans remarked that Uhtred was never like that in the book series on which it is based on. Most of the fans, however, expressed their love for the protagonist as well as the actor that plays the role.

The BBC TV series is based on “The Saxon Stories” book series by Bernard Cornwell. The plot is based on historical events in 9 th and 10th century Britain. The next season of the TV series will be based on the third book in the series “The Lords of the North,” in which Uhtred seeks revenge against his uncle for taking over his lands after the death of his father.

Netflix has joined the production of “The Last Kingdom” season 2. Filming has already wrapped, and the show is currently in the post production phase of development. The producers are yet to announce a release date. With the first trailer and the preview pictures released, fans may not have to wait too long to watch the show.
