The first teaser trailer of “The Last Kingdom” season 2 has been released online. The show will premiere in spring this time around. Uhtred continues to battle his enemies this year, but the fight will be much more personal for him.

The following article contains spoilers from the first season, and details from the trailer of the second season. Readers who haven’t watched the show before are advised to stop here.

After fighting for King Alfred and the Saxons in the first season, Uhtred of Bebbanburg (Alexander Dreymon) is now ready to fight his personal enemies in the new season. The first trailer (see below) shows the character in an action sequence.

The trailer teases Uhtred focused on getting revenge, and fighting for what is rightfully his. His uncle has taken over his lands, and it is now finally time for the young warrior to return and reclaim them. With King Alfred (David Dawson) by his side, the character is well placed to get the revenge for the murder of his Danish family, and take back his lands.

“The Last Kingdom” season 2 teaser trailer shows Uhtred running. The master strategist appears to be luring his enemy to an ambush. The warrior turns back to fight in the video.

It is not clear who is chasing Uhtred, and if this is in fact a battle between two armies. The character is the only one featured in the scene. However, the fire all around him suggests that the scene is from a major battle sequence.

While Uhtred may be eager to fight his uncle, Alfred may have other plans for him. The land is still mostly controlled by the invading Danes, who the Saxons have to fight first.

Uhtred has divided loyalties, and fights for his self interest. He may have challenges fighting his brother Ragnar (Tobias Santelmann) and friend Brida (Emily Cox), who are still on the opposing side of the Saxons. With so many different storylines, and the potential for a lot of twists and turns, the plot of the next season is sure to keep the fans engaged.

The teaser reveals that “The Last Kingdom” season 2 will premiere this spring. The exact release date hasn’t been announced yet, and the fans will have to wait for some time before that is revealed. The announcement may be a part of the full trailer, which should also be released soon.
