Now we know where Kate Upton got her stunning, model features—her mom. The Sports Illustrated model shared a photo on Twitter, featuring her with beautiful mom, Shelly.

With the Style Awards 2013 as the photo’s backdrop, the photo showed smiling Kate in black embracing her mom who was in a white dress at the event held at the Lincoln Center last Sept. 4, 2013.

Instead of being accompanied by rumoured boyfriend, "Dancing With The Stars" talent, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Kate opted to share the moment with her mom on the day she received the Model of the Year award at the fashion event.

The 21-year-old model, who became a household name after gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated in February 2012 and a series of viral videos featuring the stunning Florida native, shared the photo in her Twitter account with the caption that said:

The photo was posted on Sept. 9, 5 days after she received the Model of the Year award from 10th Style Awards. The pair both looked all smiles facing the camera, sporting a similar style for their blond hair.

This wasn’t the first time that the mother-daughter duo has been spotted out and about in recent weeks. They were snapped strolling the Manhattan streets before the 10th Style Awards, sporting casual looks. They were again pictured together at the Billie Jean Tennis Center on Day 13 of the U.S. Open on Saturday, Sept. 4.

Joining Kate and mom Shelly was fellow model, Karolina Kurkova.

It should not come a surprise if Kate took her mom with her at the game at the U.S. Open over the weekend, since mom Shelly is a tennis champion herself.

Shelly has recently opened up to Allure, explaining what she thinks could be the reasons for her daughter's success, indicating that Kate's “energy and enthusiasm” could have contributed to her quick rise to stardom.

"Who would have known? It’s been a very, very busy few years," Shelly said, according to the Daily Mail.

The supportive mom, who never had second thoughts moving from Florida to New York to jumpstart Kate’s career, emphasised how proud she is about how Kate handles her daily grind since she rose to international superstardom.

“I just am so proud about how she has handled all the pressure that goes along with all the successes that are amazing as well. She seems to take it in stride and doesn’t seem to be inhibited at all," she said.

Kate began her career in modelling professionally at 18. At 21, the stunning model has even appeared in a couple of films including "Tower Heist" (2011), and "The Three Stooges" (2012). Aside from her busy modelling schedules, Kate is currently working on her third film, "The Other Woman" where she co-stars with Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann and Nicki MInaj.
