It’s believed the Duchess of Cambridge may have already gone into labour. Royal watchers camping outside St. Mary’s Hospital in anticipation of the birth of the second baby reportedly noticed more security activity around Lindo Wing where Kate Middleton is set to give birth.

Increased security presence was reportedly felt around St. Mary’s Hospital recently. According to Mirror UK, a police and his sniffer dog were spotted outside of the hospice the morning of Tuesday, April 28. They were spotted outside the doors to the west London hospital, where Kate Middleton and Prince William is set to appear to show the newborn to the media.

Their presence reportedly fueled speculation the Duchess of Cambridge has gone into labour and about to give birth to royal baby no. 2. The site shared a photo of the sniffer dog, which was seen doing a thorough search around the hospital area.

Additionally, protection officers were reportedly also seen entering the side entrance of the private Lindo Wing in the early hours of the morning. Likewise, a photographer believed to be close to Kate Middleton’s public assistant Natasha Archer was also around. These further led to the excitement on the possibility that the Duchess of Cambridge is due to give birth to her second child any moment now.

Royal aides were also spotted arriving outside the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital in the afternoon. According to Mirror UK reporter Victoria Murphy, the aides claimed to have come down to the hospital to give support to the royal watchers who were thrilled over the morning’s excitement.

“They say they came to relax us and have a chat because there are so many media gathering here,” Murphy said. "However it had the opposite effect and everyone got very excited and thinking there would be an imminent announcement, but they insisted there would not be. While they are saying there is no news yet, the birth could still come any moment now so that does not mean she will not be admitted later on today,” she added.

However, the presence of the police and the sniffer dog at St. Mary’s Hospital is believed to just be a “dry run.” It’s said to be the same security check that was done in 2013 before Prince George was born. The police team reportedly just came to make sure everything is secure before the second baby’s birth and before Kate Middleton and Prince William show the new royal to the media outside Lindo Wing.
