Warner Bros. confirmed that two new DC characters will appear in the upcoming “Justice League” movie. The announcement was made via a 2017 movie press kit.

Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) will have a featured role in “Justice League.” It will be the second time that the character will be shown, after his debut in “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nelson) is the second DC character to appear in “Justice League.” It will also be the second time that the character will surface in a movie, after her initial appearance in the solo “Wonder Woman” film.

Eisenberg recently teased that he will reprise his role in “Justice League,” although the creative team and Warner Bros. did not confirm until now. As for Queen Hippolyta, she has yet to be seen by DC fans when “Wonder Woman” launches on June 2, 2017. Queen Hippolylta is the mother of Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and ruler of Themyscira. Her appearance in “Justice League” could mean that she and her people may play a vital role in the story or be involved in a huge war, writes ComicBook.

Lex Luthor may explain more about his apocalyptic vision, particularly of the villain, Steppenwolf, rumoured to be played by Ciaran Hinds. Batman (Ben Affleck) and Luthor may cross paths again, where the latter will detail his new evil plans. Queen Hippolyta’s appearance may be connected with the Mother Boxes, the intergalactic devices that were initially spotted in “Dawn of Justice.” Previously, it was reported that the cast could also include an appearance from Green Lantern.

The official film synopsis of “Justice League” stated that Bruce Wayne will ask for support from Diana Prince to face a greater enemy. The two will recruit a group of metahumans to battle the new danger. Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman, Jason Momoa will debut as Aquaman, Ezra Miller will play The Flash, and Ray Fisher will play Cyborg. Other cast members include Diane Lane as Mrs. Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard as Queen Mera, and Willem Dafoe in an undisclosed role. “Justice League” is set to be out in theatres on Nov. 16, 2017.
