Iggy Azalea has revealed that she was glad she didn’t win Best Rap Album at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards, last month, for which her debut studio album “The New Classic” was nominated. In an interview with Los Angeles’ Power 106 radio station, the Australian rapper admitted that although she appreciated that she was thought of, she was relieved that she lost, saying, "I'm glad I didn't win because people already hate me enough. I do not need to be hated anymore." She also did not have an acceptance speech ready, as she was already hoping she would not be the one bringing home the award.

The 24-year-old rapper was up against Eminem, nominated for “The Marshall Mathers LP 2,” Childish Gambino for “Because the Internet,” Common for “Nobody’s Smiling,” Schoolboy Q for “Oxymoron,” and Wiz Khalifa for “Blacc Hollywood.” Eminem bagged the award, which Azalea felt was ironic, since she discussed that much of the backlash comes from being a white woman who is part of an industry created and led by African-American males, Us Magazine has reported.

Azalea was also up for Record of the Year for "Fancy," Best New Artist, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "Fancy" with Charli XCX. She, however, went home empty-handed. She revealed that she continues to face widespread animosity on social media, which became even more rampant after the Grammys last month.

The protégé of rapper T.I. recently left Twitter because of the constant body-shaming posts after she shared a photo of herself in a bikini. Fed up with the hate messages that she was receiving, Azalea asked her team to manage her social media accounts on her behalf.
