The Conde Nast Traveler magazine decided to feature "Vampire Diaries" actor Ian Somerhalder for his commendable work and dedication to his IS Foundation and the Ryot.org. The 34-year-old heartthrob actor sports a dirty look while washing an ATV for the magazine's photo shoot on the September 2013 issue.

Ian appeared to be really comfortable in the photo shoot because the images were taken from a place close to home: Lacombe, Louisiana. In the latest Conde Nast Traveler magazine issue, Mr Somerhalder is being credited as one of the eight "remarkable global citizens."

The upcoming piece points out how Ian Somerhalder uses his Twitter account to connect with his over 4 million followers and increase their awareness on worldwide issues like the environment and animal cruelty. "We have what governments have been searching for high and low: voice and access. This is the age of social media. People are tired of having their environment poisoned. Policymakers are going to have to listen. We are the policymakers now," Ian stated.

Furthermore, Ian Somerhalder's constant interaction on Twitter has made him a worldwide trending topic on the social media site during the 2013 Teen Choice Awards held last Sunday, August 11. "Not exactly sure why I would be on this list trending worldwide right now on Twitter but you guys rock!" Ian exclaimed.

The former "Lost" actor expressed his gratitude to his millions of fans especially the young ones. Ian has revealed to E! news that his teenager fans are "really incredible."

"The youth component of this world is the most underutilized, undervalued and truly almost underutilized part of the world. When you see the power of these individuals, it's off the chain. Millennials don't wanna just read news anymore, they wanna know what they can do about it. They inspire us all day long, their voice is so much louder than ours!" Ian declared.
