Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7 P3110 owners can now updates their tablets to Android 4.4 KitKat through manual installation.

CyanogenMod 11

CyanogenMod 11 runs Android 4.4 KitKat which brings a handful of new features and system improvements especially among older devices with 512 MB of RAM. CM11 has been made compatible with Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 P3110 and only requires manual installation to use.

Requirements

1. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 P3110 tablet only. Flashing this to another variant may cause unforeseen consequences.

2. Root the Galaxy 2 7.0 P3110 and install a custom recovery such as ClockworkMod recovery.

3. Create a manual backup of all personal information, settings and data files you have stored inside the tablet.

4. Make sure that the battery life is at least 50 per cent to avoid power interruption during the flash.

5. Download and install the necessary USB drivers for your tablet on the computer.

6. Enable USB debugging mode on the tablet. Depending on the current OS, go to Settings > Applications Development > USB debugging or Settings > Developer options > USB debugging.

7. Download the CyanogenMod 11 and the Google Apps package to your computer.

Flashing Instructions

1. Connect the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 P3110 to the computer using a USB cable.

2. Copy the CM 11 ROM and the Google Apps package then paste it on the SD card on your tablet. No need to extract any of the zip files.

3. Disconnect the tablet from your computer then switch it off.

4. Reboot the tablet into recovery mode. Press and hold the "volume up + home + power" keys at the same time till the Samsung logo appears.

5. Inside the recovery mode, create a nAndroid backup of the current ROM by selecting "backup and restore > backup." The saved ROM is located inside the SD card that you can restore anytime.

6. Perform a full wipe on the tablet. Select "wipe data/factory reset" and "wipe cache partition." Then select "advanced > wipe Dalvik cache."

7. Now install the CyanogenMod 11 ROM on your device. Select "install zip from SD card > choose zip from SD card > find the CM 11 zip file you have pasted earlier > confirm installation." Apply the same with the Google Apps package.

8. After the installation, go back to the main menu then select "reboot system now."

9. Wait for at least five minutes till the tablet reaches the home screen.

Congratulations! Your Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 P3110 is now updated to Android 4.4 KitKat with the help of CyanogenMod 11 custom ROM.
