It has been a long time since Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) of “Grey’s Anatomy” has had a partner. Recently, “Grey’s Anatomy” creator Shonda Rhimes has revealed that Jessica’s character in the ABC medical drama series is getting a love interest in the latest season.

Arizona was initially planned to get a love interest in season 12 but that never happened. Rhimes told Entertainment Weekly, that the pediatric surgeon will finally find romance in season 13.

“We’re absolutely going to see it,” Shonda said. “I’m very excited to introduce a love interest for her, and to get to tell a story with her that lets her be who she is, and to see who she is post the relationships that she’s had.”

Shonda explained that Jesicca was very happy about her pregnancy at the end of last year, and so she is not in the first two episodes of season 13. She said that Jessica is taking a little time off for kids, but then she’s going to be back.

Shimes did not reveal who the love interest is going to be. However, she stressed that she doesn’t want to force the relationship and said that she wouldn’t just want to stick two people together. She told EW that she wants to do it organically and will have fun with it. “We want the audience to be rooting for it,” she added.

Previously on “Grey’s Anatomy,” season 12 ended with Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona being separated in an unbending situation as Arizona got the custody of their daughter, Sofia. There have been rumours in the past of Callie not being a part of season 13 of “Grey’s Anatomy.”

According to some other rumours, season 13 might also see Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) and April Kepner (Sarah Drew) rekindling their relationship. No confirmation on this has yet been given.
