British singer Ed Sheeran has announced his 2018 Australian tour dates this past midnight. Frontier Touring, the company that helps Sheeran plan the tours, said that the singer will kick off the Australian leg on March 3 in Perth before hitting Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. He also announced two New Zealand dates in Auckland and Dunedin. The singer earlier hinted about the tour by posting a picture of his new album “Divide” with a kangaroo and a kiwi in blue background.

“Psst.. set your alarms for the tour announcement inc. dates, venues and when tickets go on sale,” said the Facebook announcement, adding that Sheeran's Australia and New Zealand tour dates will be announced a minute past midnight in Australia. The post received around 2,000 shares and thousands of comments, signalling that people are extremely excited for Sheeran's return to Australia.

Making tour announcements in the middle of the night is not a new move from the touring company. Frontier did this with the Bruce Springsteen tour announcement. The English singer-songwriter was in Australia earlier this year for two promotional shows.

Frontier Touring is responsible for giving Australia some popular musicians in the past, including Green Day, Harry Styles, Queens of the Stone Age and more. The tickets for the Harry Styles Live tour were sold out within the first few minutes.

In 2015, Sheeran toured Australia and played in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Meanwhile, the 26-year-old singer-songwriter will be promoting his latest album “Divide” on his upcoming tours. Warner Music Group said that streaming Sheeran's album helped boost digital revenues by more than a fifth in the first quarter, BBC reports. It added that it was the first time the digital revenues accounted for more than half the Warner Music Group's total revenues.

Meanwhile, Sheeran's fans are overjoyed by his Aussie tour announcement. The British singer started recording music in 2004 and rose to fame with his 2010 single “The A Team.” Sheeran has released three albums to date, the latest one being “Divide,” which came out in March 2017. Tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, May 23 at different times across the states, but a pre-sale for Frontier Touring members starts on May 16.
