The new iPads and other Apple products will be launched in an event that has been scheduled to be held on October 16. This has been a rumour all along, but now Apple has confirmed this event officially.

Mac rumours had already reported that this event was to take place in the month of October though the date was just a speculation. They had also stated that a new iPad Pro or iPad 6 Plus will be launched in this event. According to them, it is traditional that Apple, after the release of their new iPhones in the very next month will launch their new products and line of tablets.

It has been speculated that the iPads will include the iPad Air 2, an iPad Pro or an iPad 6. The new iPads may feature the Touch ID and fingerprint sensor and the colour of the tablet could be gold.

According to USA Today, Apple is expected to reveal its computers that include the Macintosh and the iMac desktop which will sport the Retina display. The OS X Yosemite is also scheduled to launch along with these products. This operating system will be an upgrade for Mac computers.

The OS X Yosemite was previewed in June this year at the Worldwide Developers Conference. Apple had then stated that the OS X Yosemite would be launched in the fall. The OS X Yosemite has interesting features that will integrate all idevices. The user experience will be fulfilling, the OS X Yosemite will allow other idevices to synchronise with the iMac or Mac computers and any work started on any one of the idevices could be completed on any of the other idevices. Simple tasks like an email started on the iPad could be sent via the Mac or an incoming call on the iPhone could be received on the Mac.

The October 16 event is all set and Apple will be the host to analysts and journalists at its Cupertino campus in California.
