The world may not see a lot of the Black Eyed Peas in the near future, but the group assures their hiatus will not be a permanent one.

Fergie, will.i.am, Apl.de.ap and Taboo played their last performance on Wednesday night at Miami before they take an indefinite break to focus on solo projects and personal matters.

It was Taboo who broke the primary reason for their temporary hiatus in an interview with New Times.

"We have to respect Ferg. [She] is our sister. She definitely wants to have a family, and we're happy for her. She definitely wants to have a family, and we're happy for her. And we're going to keep being a strong family being there and supporting her," he reveals.

Fergie, who's been married to Josh Duhamel for almost three years, confirms the report.

"Definitely. I'm on baby bump watch. It's really fun. It's when the paparazzi go right into your stomach," she says.

The "Big Girls Don't Cry" diva is eager to take a break from performing, at least at the moment.

" I've just been touring since 2003 and like anything things get monotonous and your doing the same thing every night. I'd like to go days without wearing make-up and watching my football games. Doing my footwear collection and my fragrances - just going where the day takes me," Fergie explains.

Will.i.am spoke heartfelt words on their sold-out final show, which also featured Cee-Lo, Jason Derulo, Queen Latifah, Sean Kingston and T-Pain.

"Black Eyed Peas is a family. We are friends, and we helped each other get here - and you guys are an extension of that friendship. We are here in this stadium today representing family and love, a day before Thanksgiving, and we thank you guys for the love," he tells the audience at Miami's Sun Life Stadium.

The foursome insists they are not breaking up as a group, saying they are just keeping with a tried-and-tested pattern.

"We always have two cycles of records and then we take a break. And then two cycles of records and then a break," will.i.am explains to The Hollywood Reporter.

"When we take breaks you know, we work on side projects and get our personal stuff in order then come back and make beautiful music," he adds.

"We're going to take a little vacation and focus on our personal things," fourth member Apl.de.ap affirms.
