The Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao super fight is a done deal, according to a report on Saturday saying that the Filipino pugilist has already signed off on the fight contract against which is going to worth roughly $250 million, a record-high for the sport in the fight that will involve two of its most popular and marketable superstars.

As expected and reported by multiple outlets the past weeks, the sharing will be 60-40 per cent in favour of Mayweather which means the undefeated American will be earning $150 million while Pacquiao will get $100 million.

“Manny has 100 per cent signed his side of the deal,” according to an unnamed source by Gareth A Davies, a boxing correspondent for the website, The Telegraph based in the United Kingdom. “It is now over to Mayweather to close the deal and announce the fight.”

According to Davies, Mayweather is all set to sign the contract and will officially announce the mega-fight in the coming days. Earlier this week, Ring Magazine’s Doug Fischer, a well-known scribe from the “Bible of Boxing”, reported that the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight may be announced during the National Basketball Association, or NBA, All-Star Game, which is scheduled on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015 in the United States. During the NBA All-Star Saturday festivities, Mayweather Jr. was spotted in the Brooklyn arena where the all-star festivities were being held. Mayweather Jr. was asked by media present in the event about the fight but the American pleaded to them not to talk about boxing but that he’s in New York to enjoy the basketball event.

Curiously, it was also in a basketball event that Mayweather Jr. and Pacquiao met personally for the first time. During a Milwaukee Bucks vs. Miami Heat game last January, Mayweather Jr. approached Pacquiao near half-court where the pair apparently exchanged phone numbers that started, or re-started, the negotiations for the super fight. A few hours after that meeting, Mayweather Jr. also visited Pacquiao in his hotel room in Miami to talk about the said fight.

Also according to the same Davies report, Mayweather and Pacquiao have already agreed on other details of the contract; the fighters will use 8-ounce gloves, go through a random drug testing program pre-and-post fight by the United States Anti-Doping Agency and that the fight will be under the supervision of the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

The tentative date for the fight will be on May 2, 2015 and the tentative venue will be the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
