Followed by Amazon and Google Play Store, Best Buy is out with a deal for the Moto 360 smartwatch. Best Buy is now offering the Moto 360 at $79 provided it is purchased along with any smartphone that supports Android. The deal is valid until April 18 and customers can avail this deal through one of the stores of Best Buy, as per reports.

Prior to Best Buy announcing its new deal on Moto 360, Amazon had reduced the price of the smartwatch’s leather version to $179 and the price of the steel version was slashed to $229. In order to lure buyers from Amazon, Google Play Store priced the black and stone gray leather Moto 360 at $165, reports Tech Times.

As per the Tech Times report, the latest deal from Best Buy will give tough competition to Amazon and Google as it reduces its price to $79 along with the purchase of a smart phone that runs Android. However, the Best Buy promotion is only applicable for in-store purchases and customers cannot avail the discount by shopping online, reports Digital Trends. The report says, the latest offer announced by Best Buy is applicable on both contract Android smart phones through different carriers like AT&T and Verizon; and also to the prepaid Android phones that costs about $50.

The deal comes at a time when many new smart phones like the Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and HTC One M9 have been put on sale. As per Tech Times, attractive deals on Moto 360 is an attempt to clear the inventories of first generation Moto 360 as the company is stocking up the second generation Moto 360 smart watch.

Smart watches are gaining a lot of popularity and consumers’ demand for this form factor is growing. Recently, Apple had to delay the availability of fits Smart Watch as it could not meet the high demand of its customers. At the same time Google is coming up with an Android Wear app that can be used on Apple’s iPhones. If Apple decides to include Google’s Android Wear app in the Apple App Store, smart watches supported by Android will be compatible with iPhones.
