Barbra Streisand showed her support for George Floyd and his family in the most unique way -- by making Floyd’s daughter a six-year-old stockholder.

Gianna, Floyd's daughter, received what could be the most unusual gift from the “Funny Girl” herself. Streisand gifted the young girl Disney stock. Gianna shared the news on her Instagram account with photos of her holding the share certificate.

“Thank You @barbrastreisand for my package, I am now a Disney Stockholder thanks to you,” she wrote.

The post didn’t reveal how many shares the “The Way We Were” singer gave Floyd’s daughter. As of June 15, 8:12 a.m. EDT, a single Disney stock is worth US$115.49.

George Floyd, an African-American, became the global icon of anti-racism and police brutality since his death on May 25. The 55-year-old died in the hands of Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who knelt on his neck for almost nine months. This is believed to have caused his death. Chauvin has since been charged with second degree murder, while Floyd’s death sparked protests against systemic racism across U.S. and in other parts of the world.

Aside from Streisand, other celebrities have also donated to the cause and showed support for Floyd’s family. Kanye West on June 4, pledged $2 million to support the families of Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor, and also established a college fund for Gianna. Texas Southern University (TSU) also offered her a full scholarship grant.

"We know the value of an education in the pursuit of solutions and generational progress. We look forward to embracing her into the TSU family," TSU Foundation Chairman Gerald Smith said in a statement.

A GoFundMe page created for Gianna has also raised $2.1 million. Gianna and her mother, Roxie Washington, thanked the 61,800 people who donated to the cause.

"Thank you so much for the outpouring of love and support. We understand that people are wanting to send cards, pictures, or any gifts for my baby. We appreciate that.”
