Angelina Jolie’s fiancé, Brad Pitt has signed up for a cameo role in comedy-action film, “22 Jump Street.” The 50-year old Hollywood’s legendary hunk is set to join Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill as the duo reunites for the film’s sequel.

According to Perez Hilton, a source revealed the role to be played by the “Inglorious Basterds” star.

"The scene is very funny and the guys had a great time doing it. Brad was a great sport and the producers were thrilled that he took part,” blogger Perez Hilton said in a report, according to newsnet5.com.

In “22 Jump Street,” Pitt plays a funny university librarian and he will be playing opposite Tatum and Hill who portray the characters of police officers tasked to go undercover to pin down a drug ring.

The comedy-action film is based on the TV series of the same title which was popular on the tube from 1987 to 1991. Pitt joins other top celebrities tapped to play cameo roles for the hit detective film, including Johnny Depp and Holly Robinson Peete.

Brad Pitt may have captured the heart of world, especially women for his role in “Interview with the Vampire” and “Legends of the Fall,” among others. But the father of six is known to take on projects where he could represent character roles such as the university librarian in “22 Jump Street.”

Though fans remember him best for his roles flaunting his hottest looks in films such as “Troy,” “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” among others, Pitt has once admitted he does not mind taking on character roles. Angie’s fiancé in fact had already taken on roles where he had to change his appearance including his role in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” He had also portrayed characters using accents that are a far cry from his usual self. These include roles such as Lt. Aldo Raine in “Inglorious Basterds,” and Early Grace in “Kalifornia,” he starred opposite former flame, Juliette Lewis.

In an interview with Back Stage, Pitt admitted he enjoys taking on challenging roles.

He said, “I thought I could always get there or make that turn as long as they let me stay in the game. Listen, I've been pretty fortunate. And if I've been underrated, it's actually been something I've been able to work with; I can surprise people. It sets me up to exceed expectations, so I don't mind.”

Fans will see Pitt in “12 Years a Slave,” and “The Counselor.” He is currently filming, “Fury,” and “Voyage of Time.”
