2014 Emmy Primetime Awards: Full List of Winners, 'Breaking Bad' Strkes Again [PHOTOS]
The 66th Annual Emmy Primetime Awards is currently happening at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles with the brightest stars in television competing for this year's most prestigious TV honour. Leading the nominations is HBO's epic fantasy series "Game of Thrones" with 19 nods, including another nomination for Emmy winner Peter Dinklage for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
Hosted by Seth Meyers, the 2014 Emmys is packed with A-list presenters and performers to celebrate a year of amazing TV programs from June 1, 2013 until May 31, 2014 and to honour the best in U.S. primetime television programming. Chosen by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, this year's award show coincides with the 66th Creative Arts Awards ceremony.
"Sherlock: His Last Vow" lead actor, Benedict Cumberbatch took home the Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie award, beating Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman in Fargo. "Breaking Bad's" Aaron bagged his third Emmy for playing Jesse Pinkman in AMC's highly rated drama series. Co-star Anna Gunn also took home the Outstanding Supporting Actress award just like last year when she won the same award, this will be second Emmy victory.
Another returning winner is "The Big Bang Theory" star Jim Parsons, who got his fourth win for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy for Episode "The Relationship Diremption." Parsons beat fellow nominees, including William H. Macy in Showtime's "Shameless" and Ricky Gervais in Netflix's "Derek."
HBO's "Veep" lead actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus got two Emmys for Lead Actress in a Comedy for her outstanding performance. The brunette bested in five other nominees including HBO's Lena Dunham for "Girls," Melissa McCarthy for "Mike & Moly," Taylor Schilling for "Orange Is the New Black," Edie Falco for "Nurse Jackie" and Amy Poehler for "Parks and Recreation."
