The former head of Xbox has just confirmed there will be more gaming consoles coming out soon. Robbie Bach strongly believes the gaming public can get its hands on a PlayStation 5 and an Xbox Two in the future.

"I think there will be another generation," Bach told Geek Wire. "What is the balance between what an Apple TV is and what an Xbox or a PlayStation 4 is? These are really interesting questions. The teams are going to have to wrestle with those! That next generation will be a whole new game!"

It looks like Microsoft and Sony aren’t done with the generation gaming consoles after all, as pointed out by Pocket Lint. Sadly, Bach did admit he wasn’t sure how companies would improve their next generation consoles. With regards as to whether or not next generation consoles are going to use physical media, however, Bach may have confirmed that’s "probably not" going to happen.

"Is it just a game box?" he added. "Or, is it more?"

"They wondered why Sony and Microsoft were doing it," Bach continued. "Everybody said the console market was dead. These console competitions last five, six, seven, eight years. I think it shows in the marketplace today! I think Xbox One has put almost all of that behind itself. They have got a great holiday lineup. They are gaining share and volume. The amazing thing is the console market is bigger now than it has ever been before. Both companies are selling more units!"

Bach's statements have compelled avid gamers to start to speculate about what the next consoles are going to look and play like.

Although Bach is no longer with Microsoft's Xbox team, he’s confident the Xbox team only "did what they needed to do" and will continue to do so to serve the needs of the gaming public.
