Vijay Singh is suing the PGA Tour after being cleared of doping allegations involving deer antler spray.

The Fijian was initially sanctioned by the Tour after admitting to using the substance, but was cleared of wrongdoing last week when the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) confirmed that the use of deer antler spray is no longer prohibited.

The lawsuit alleges that the Tour mishandled the situation by making accusations before determining whether the substance did indeed provide a performance enhancement.

"The PGA Tour has now finally admitted that the use of deer antler spray is not prohibited," the suit claims. "Rather than performing its duties to golfers first, and then determining whether there had been any violation of the Anti-Doping Program, the PGA Tour rushed to judgment and accused one of the world's hardest working and most dedicated golfers of violating the rules of the game."

Singh says the Tour violated its duty of care and good faith in the way they chose to deal with the matter.

"I am proud of my achievements, my work ethic, and the way I live my life," the 50-year-old said in a statement. "The PGA Tour not only treated me unfairly, but displayed a lack of professionalism that should concern every professional golfer and fan of the game."

The PGA Tour has so far declined to comment on the lawsuit.

"We just received the statement," PGA Tour vice president Ty Votaw told USA TODAY Sports. "We will have no comment."
