'Pahrump Hills' Region, Mars
A color mosaic taken by NASA's Mars Curiosity rover Mast Camera (mastcam) shows strata exposed along the margins of the valleys in the "Pahrump Hills" region on Mars in this undated handout photo courtesy of NASA. After 18 months of driving, scientists on September 11, 2014, announced that Curiosity had arrived at the base of Mount Sharp ahead of schedule, thanks to a somewhat serendipitous decision to take an alternative path that would be gentler on the rover's damaged wheels. Within two weeks, Curiosity will reach an outcrop of rock called Pahrump Hills, where the first drill samples of Mount Sharp real estate will be made. Reuters/NASA/JPL-Caltech/MSSS/

A carved statue was observed by a UFO enthusiast, Joe White of ArtAlienTV. He posted a video on October 10 explaining his findings on YouTube with the title "Mars Ghostly Statue: Scary Carved Alien Tomb Head."

In an exchange of e-mails with International Business Times AU, Joe White of ArtAlienTV, said that in the Gale Crater in Mars, a carved statue, looking ghostly, was noticed in a photo by Curiosity Sol 703. He explained that the object had clear eyes, nose and teeth and that it was sitting in the sand. He believed that it was an example of Martian art from either a grave stone or ancient alien tomb.

He said to the right of the statue, a heart shaped rock was observed. He explained that the rock could be part of the tomb statue. Initially, Joe thought that it could be a Martian skull. However, when he looked carefully, he saw that it had a neat cut stone look that led to his assumption that it was a tombstone.

He said that the object's width was about a foot. He continued that the object wasn't very far from the Mast Camera of the Mars Curiosity Rover. He believed that it could be one of the clearest examples of alien art found till date.

According to Beforeitsnews.com, the statue seemed to hold an expression. The writer, N. Morgan, suggested that it seemed like the statue was watching.

The video posted by Joe White on his YouTube channel, ArtAlienTV - MARS ZOO, has managed to get about 900 views. One of the comments of the video by YouTube user, Degzi coe, said that Joe had a good eye for detail.

In the past, Joe White has noticed many other objects on Mars. The one that garnered the most amount of attention was a traffic signal. Joe spotted the object in the images that were sent back by the Curiosity Rover, reported Huffington Post. The object was estimated to about 12 inches long.

Joe explained that when he posted the video on his YouTube page, various comments were posted. A few of them thought that it did look like traffic lights while few others felt that it looked like a totem pole.
