The world would not have been prepared for another loss of a Hollywood top celebrity after Paul Walker’s untimely demise, had “Thor” Aussie actor, Chris Hemsworth failed to flee from the deadly flash floods in Canary Islands.

Liam Hemsworth’s older brother was filming his new movie, “In the Heart of the Sea,” in Tenerife, 20 miles off from La Gomera, North Africa when he and his crew were forced to evacuate the film set following the devastating flash flood that hit the area, Monday.

Citing a report by Page Six, news.com.au said that the “Thor” star and all members of the film production group, led by director Ron Howard, left the island following orders from local authorities.

The flash flood is said to be resulting from rare heavy rain in the islands.

The “In the Heart of the Sea” director took some photos of the deadly flood and took to Twitter to share the experience he, Hemsworth and the film crew had to go through during filming in the Spanish archipelago off North Africa.

A look at the photos Howard posted on Twitter, @RealRonHoward, showed the flooded road access and heavy rains that gripped the area.

With Howard’s photos are captions that said: “Rare heavy rain in La Gomera forced us to our small converted cover stage.”

He then described in his post the surroundings as “Torrential outside,” before he posted another tweet that said, “Soon we were advised to wrap and evacuate. Pronto. ASAP.”

The Oscar-winning director also posted a photo with a car mirror as the foreground, showing rainwaters going down the hills as they drove along the access road.

“Good luck that no cars or people were swept away or hit by tumbling rocks,” Howard tweeted.

Chris and the film crew escaped the flash flood. Howard’s partner, Brian Grazer of the Imagine Entertainment confirmed that everyone is safe.

“There was a near-typhoon, which is very rare for that area. Ron had to shut down the production and get everyone out of there. Thankfully, none of the cast or crew were hurt. Production has been put on hold,” Grazer said, as noted news.com.au.

Local reports claimed that the intense, rare storm in the Canary Islands killed five people while hundreds of others were left homeless.

Hemsworth plays the lead role as Owen Chase in Howard’s “In the Heart of the Sea.” According to IMDB, the film chronicles the experience of the crew members of a whaling ship preyed upon by a sperm whale and they remained in the sea for 90 days. It is based on the events that took place in 1820.
