Spoiler alert! This article contains "Supergirl" spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens next before the new episode airs.

It has been confirmed that Cat Grant, who is played by Calista Flockhart, will be returning in season. Andrew Kreisberg spoke with Collider and said that although her role has been an issue when the set moved from Los Angeles to Vancouver for season 2, she will still return.

Cat Grant will be in the first two episodes and Flockhart is currently in talks to do more. The actress is a very big fan of the show but when it moved to Vancouver, there had been talk that distance might make her part. However, she is so into it and the allegiance is just too strong that she found ways to come back.

Since Cat and Superman have been confirmed to appear on the same episodes, her absence could be explained by a trip to Metropolis. One theory holds that when Clark Kent was terminated by The Daily Plant in The New 52, he and Cat might start a news blog centered on Metropolis.

Cat has a strong background with The Daily Planet when she started there as Perry White’s personal assistant, writes Comic Book . Clark, on the other hand, is single. This is quite notable considering that a married Superman has been introduced to the comic universe while the DC expanded TV universe runs its own pace.

Also, if Clark and Cat happen to be in the same place at the same time, it could also point to the possibility of a relationship between the two, which is the exact reason she was created in the comics. The co-creator of Cat Grant, Jerry Ordway, however, says that this angle might not be followed by the show to the nail.

He says cannot speak for the show’s intentions. All that he knows is that Cat loved Clark for who he was, while Lois loved Superman and merely tolerated Clark’s presence. This points out to two different love triangles that could be the more popular Lois-Superman-Clark, and, now, Lois-Clark-Cat.

“Supergirl” returns for Season 2 on The CW on October 17, 2016. Meanwhile, here’s the latest trailer featuring the newest hero on the show.
