Scott Eastwood and Karen Fukuhara may be joining “Suicide Squad” soon, if the recent casting news is confirmed. Eastwood is rumoured for the role of Steve Trevor and Fukuhara for the villain Plastique.

“Suicide Squad” scoopster Umberto Gonzales has once again taken to his Instagram page to reveal some details about David Ayer’s film. According to Gonzalez, viewers may see Scott Eastwood assuming the role of Steve Trevor who works as an Advanced Research Group for Uniting Super-Humans, or ARGUS, agent under the command of Amanda Waller (Viola Davis).

Even though Steve Trevor is working for the head of the “Suicide Squad,” Cinema Blend claims he will actually “be a good guy who is an important player from the Wonder Woman mythos.” Scott Eastwood will reportedly only have a cameo appearance in the film, although it’s been speculated his role sets him up for a possible appearance in the 2017 “Wonder Woman” standalone film.

In the DC comics, Steve Trevor is Wonder Woman’s main love interest. Latino Review noted one particular conversation he had with Amanda Waller, when he tried to convince her that Wonder Woman and the other Amazons pose no threat to global security. Trevor had made his feelings known to Wonder Woman, but his intentions were sadly not reciprocated.

In recent casting news, Umberto Gonzalez claimed Karen Fukuhara may also be joining “Suicide Squad” as Plastique. Her role is said to be limited to minimal scenes, including one in a nightclub. While this news remains unconfirmed, Gonzalez seems very certain that “Plastique is in the movie.”

In the DC comicbook lore, Plastique becomes a “Suicide Squad” member after Amanda Waller promises her government full pardon in exchange for her services. Plastique takes on the identity of a secret government agent who was tasked to kill the terrorist group Jihad in Qurac. There she tries to betray the Suicide Squad after meeting the group’s leader Mushtaq, who is actually Nemesis in disguise.

Whether Scott Eastwood and Karen Fukuhara will join the long list of characters and cast members in “Suicide Squad” is still unknown. So far production details on the film have been scarce and limited only to David Ayer giving subtle hints to his film through his Twitter page.
