A new report slams a popular “leak” about “Star Wars: Episode 8.” The report revolves around the rumours that suggested Rey is the reincarnation of a popular character, and that this event would tie the original trilogy, prequels and the new trilogy together.

[Spoiler alert]

A popular theory that had dominated the internet some time back stated that Rey (Daisy Ridley) is actually a reincarnation of Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen). This would lead to a scene where Luke (Mark Hamill) would tell his new apprentice that she is his father, which would be reminiscent of Darth Vader revealing his relationship to Luke in “The Empire Strikes Back.”

A report by I Was Raised To Do One Thing claims to have spoken to a source familiar with the developments at the movie. The source reportedly said that very few people at the top know the true identity of Rey. The people who know the secret include “Star Wars: Episode 8” director Rian Johnson, some of the cast members, Kathleen Kennedy, Lawrence Kasden, JJ Abrams, Colin Trevorrow and the story group.

So, a leak about the character’s father so early is very unlikely. Besides that, the source said that calling Rey the reincarnation of Anakin is a “complete insult to the creativity” of the team making these movies. The report goes on to call such claims as “ridiculous.”

The source confirms that the plot of the upcoming movie will explore some “Star Wars” lore. The movie could explore the mythologies of the Jedi and the Sith. In the movie Luke will not only teach Rey about the ways of the Force, but also explain the origins of the mysterious energy in the universe.

The source revealed that Luke will be seen as having reached a new plateau in “Star Wars: Episode 8.” The report also teases that the movie will feature “some of the most epic Force teaching moments we have ever seen on screen.”
