Details on Sony’s Xperia Z6 line up sparked excitement among fans as the news hinted at five Xperia Z6 models along with a Z6 Lite handset in the line up. Sony may position the Xperia Z6 Lite between the Xperia Z6 and Xperia Z6 Compact models when selling the Z6 phones in the market.

An imminent release is round the corner, with reports suggesting that the Xperia Z6 line up and the Xperia Z6 Lite are expected during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona in late February this year. Talking about the Z6 Lite in particular, Sony is said to imitate Apple’s approach towards using a subtle combination of metal back covers with glass designs for its iPhone 6 smartphone. You can expect a similar metallic design for the Z6 Lite model.

Some fresh reports brought about by Mobile Dad (translated) indicate a quick preview of the Z6 Lite. The phone is expected to sport a 5-inch display touch screen, a 2.5D curved metal and glass design for its overall look and a brilliant processor.

Sony boasts of a Snapdragon 650 processor in the phone, which is Qualcomm’s MSM8956 processor and is the latest Xiaolong 650 processor. The phone is also based upon dual-core Adreno510 quad-core graphics and A72 + A53 architecture. It is also supported by a Qualcomm QC3.0 fast charging technology and packed with an X8 Long Term Evolution (LTE) baseband entire network.

Apart from the Xperia Z6 Lite, which may cost around US $385 (approx. AU$550), Sony may release five other Z6 variants. The list includes a 4-inch Xperia Z6 Mini, a 4.6-inch Xperia Z6 Compact, a 5.2-inch Xperia Z6, a 5.8-inch Xperia Z6 Plus and 6.4-inch Xperia Z6 Ultra. Arguably, the release of the Xperia Z6 models may impact the sales of the Xperia Z5, Z5 Premium and Z5 Compact handsets, reports Forbes.
