However, there is no word on when the update would be rolled out.

In June 2015, Sony announced the list of devices to receive Android 5.1 Lollipop, which only included M2 and M2 Aqua in the Xperia M series. However, later in October, Xperia M4 Aqua made its place in the list of eligible devices for Marshmallow, confirmed by the company on its official Sony Mobile Blog.

Sony has confirmed the roll out of Android Marshmallow update to a number of devices including Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia M5, Xperia C5 Ultra, Xperia M4 Aqua and Xperia C4.

Google announced the Android 6.0 Marshmallow with its latest LG Nexus 5X and the Huawei Nexus 6P. In 2015, after the public release of Android Marshmallow, leading smartphone manufacturers including LG, Motorola and HTC started rolling out the update to their top-end devices.

In related news, Sony has pushed out Android 5.0 incremental updates to Xperia M4 Aqua (E2303) and Xperia M4 Aqua Dual (E2333) in Nordic region. The firmware holds build numbers 26.1.A.3.92 for E2303 and 26.1.B.3.91 for E2333.

Meanwhile, Sony will begin rolling out Marshmallow update to Xperia Z5 users in Turkey, as reported by GSM Arena. The over-the-air (OTA) would take some time to reach all users. The next in the line are its siblings, the Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Premium, followed by the Xperia Z3 series.
