After the huge success of "Sherlock" New Year’s Day special titled "The Abominable Bride" in January 2016, fans and viewers of the hit British television program are waiting to see their highly functioning sociopath Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) and his deductive logic once again.

“The Abominable Bride” drew positive feedback from both critics and fans. It got an 8.2 rating on IMDB, adding thrill and excitement over what will happen next on the show. For now, however, fans will have to make do with all the speculations and teasers all over the internet.

According to the show's co-creators and executive producers Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, the show will pick up where they left off: James Moriarty (Andrew Scott) appearing in TV ads and billboards, surprising Sherlock. This surprise took him to his mental palace, as seen in “The Abominable Bride,” and he subsequently realised that Moriarty is dead for sure, but someone is making people believe that he is back.

"Ghosts of the past are rising in the lives of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson (Martin Freeman) bringing adventure, romance and terror in their wake," Gatiss and Moffat promised, as reported by Wales Online. "This is the story we've been telling from the beginning."

Some “Sherlock” Season 4 theories and rumours suggest Sherlock might have a romance of his own now that his partner Watson is happily married to his pregnant wife Mary (Amanda Abbington).

If this rumour is true, who would play the role of Sherlock’s love interest? Will the fans be welcoming a new character, or will Lara Pulver return and reprise her role as Irene Adler?

In confirmed “Sherlock” Season 4 spoilers, Toby Jones joins the cast as one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's super villains. He is expected to make Sherlock and Watson's life hell on earth.

Watch out for more "Sherlock Season 4" spoilers, as its release date is only about half a year away.
