Samsung Galaxy S7 to come in three CPU variants for US, European and Indian markets

New rumours about the Samsung Galaxy S7 suggest the handset will be available in three variants. Each variant will be aimed at different markets and will be powered by a different processor.

This year, Samsung and LG completely avoided the Snapdragon 810 chipset on their flagship smartphones since this processor is plagued by thermal heating issues. Hence, smartphone manufacturers are worried the Snapdragon 820 might also suffer from the same issue, Phone Arena reported.

Rumours also have it Samsung will restrict the release of the Galaxy S7 to markets like the U.S and China, Sam Mobile reported. Another variant of the Galaxy S6 successor will be powered by the Exynos 8890 chipset (also referred to as the Exynos M1). This variant will be exclusively available for the European markets and Japan.

The Galaxy Note 5 is powered by the Exynos 7422 chipset. Rumours before its release indicated the Note 5 will carry the Exynos 7422 chipset. Sam Mobile reported the Galaxy S7 with Exynos 7422 SoC will be released in India.

Previous speculation also claimed that unlike the Galaxy S6 that lacks a microSD slot, the Galaxy S7 will come with expansion memory slot. The Galaxy S7 will still continue to sport a non-removable battery and unibody design, G for Games reported.
