'Rainbow Six Siege' Mid-Season Reinforcement: What to expect from the update

The team behind Ubisoft’s “Rainbow Six Siege” has made major changes for their mid-season update. The changes are particularly in line with the Glaz’ scope update, a new elite set for Twitch and reworked operators.

Glaz’ Scope

Glaz’ upgrade is probably the biggest change in the game. The Glaz’ Flip Sight is the additional feature where a thermal visual feedback can be seen when peering through the scope. This will allow players to virtually see their enemies using thermal silhouette.

But players need to keep in mind that this flip sight will not be handy if the enemies are hiding behind walls or anything that can block them. This visual feedback will only appear if the target is in plain sight.

The upside of the scope is that it will outline the enemies even through smoke grenades, Capitão’s micro smoke grenades and Smoke’s gas canisters. This feature can also be used for close encounter combats as well

Reworked Operators

Raven Alliance is the chosen reworked operation for the update. The synopsis of the operations, as explained on Rainbow Six Siege, states: "Selected to represent his country, Operator Timur “Glaz” Glazkov faced elite Corps from over 19 countries at the Worldwide Army Games. He lost the first spot at the Sniper competition to former Team Rainbow Operator Galanos, who represented Greece. Galanos is highly regarded in the field, having been decorated for a series of Operations (codename: Raven Shield) led in Rio de Janeiro."

In continuation of the synopsis, the site further stated that after the sniping event, Glazkov and Galanos was in discussion of a plan to modernise a sniper rifle attachment. The project materialised in Cyprus where some test runs were also made. Upon completion of the upgraded sniper rifle scope, both of them headed back to the field along with their brainchild. The said scope is now upgraded with an image sensor that can detect infrared visuals. The new and improved Glazkov’s Flip Sight can even detect long range marks even if enemies hide behind smokescreens.

The Elite

The Velvet Shell mid-season reinforcements will deploy a new instalment of Elite skins that will embody the French Resistance with Twitch’ Maquis set. This will introduce a new design for her offensive drones.

Each of the set will feature a matching Uniform and Headgear, Operator Card, Operator Title, Charm and a Signature Victory Animation. These special packages are exclusively tailored for Twitch.

These mid-season reinforcements of “Rainbow Six Siege” will be available on March 15. The update will be playable on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
