PS4 3.00 update gives clues to possible PS2 games on PS4 partner with Taco Bell for limited edition gold PS4 contest

New PS4 game may not be the only titles that PS4 owners will be able to play in the future. Despite the lack of announcement regarding backward compatibility plans for the PS4, Sony may still be planning to bring PS2 titles to the PS4.
This new hint comes from the PS4 3.00 update beta, which is out for preview program members. According to PlayStation Lifestyle, a tipster had stated that two originally PS2 titles, “War of the Monsters” and “Siren” have been for the PS4. According to some social discussions, this may be a hint that backwards compatibility for PS2 games on the PS4 may be coming.
This is not the first time that the possibility of a PS2 game coming to the PS4 has been brought up. Still, nothing is official until Sony makes an announcement, so best to treat this as a rumour for now. The PS4 3.00 firmware update set to release to all PS4 owners soon.
Recently, Sony has also unveiled the newest addition to its PS4 bundle collection in the form of the limited edition “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” console and controller. While not many may appreciate the design of the newest customised PS4, Sony has another one up its sleeve. This console and controller combo, however, is unique in that it is part of a new contest.
The contest, which is in partnership with Taco Bell, is dubbed the “Winner Every 10 Minutes.” It allows PS4 fans a chance to get the limited edition gold PS4 bundle. What’s great about this is that the PS4 console and controller are not only a limited edition combo, but the prize bundle includes two more prizes. These include a physical copy of “Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection” and a voucher for a year-long membership to PlayStation Plus.
The PS4 contest officially starts on Sept. 24 and will run until Nov. 4. As the contest name says, there will be a winner of the entire PS4 prize bundle every 10 minutes for the duration of the contest.
Announced via the PlayStation website, the rules to enter the contest cites three ways for fans to join. The easiest would be to purchase from select Taco Bell branches any specially-marked Taco Bell Big Box, which contains a code.
But there is also a way to join without making a purchase. Fans can obtain a code either via mail-in code or online request. The full instructions can be seen in the link above on how to join. This new promo comes at a very good time for PS4 fans. Apart from the possibility of PS2 games coming to the PS4, the included game in the PS4 contest is a great way to enjoy previous “Uncharted” titles before the anticipated “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” debuts in 2016.
