Princess Madeleine of Sweden is not comfortable with the attention that comes with being a princess. The Swedish royal, along with her British-American banker husband Chris O’Neill, appeared on the talk show "Skavlan" on Thursday, Dec. 10. During the interview, she recounted her childhood days when she used to hide during family portraits.

“My poor parents always got a headache when we were having family photos or something like that. I always ran away," the 33-year-old royal said. Madeleine added that her parents had to drag her for the photo sessions.

She told Federick Skavlan during the interview that she kept screaming every time as she never wanted to be part of the portraits. The mother of two said that she still does not “like being the centre of attention” and struggles with the pressures of living in the public eye and talking to the press. The princess admitted that she is shy and not comfortable in front of people, photographers and journalists, Hello reports.

The brunette beauty said that though she does not like to be the centre of attention, she has to deal with it regularly in her official capacity. Madeleine added that she is struggling with it but also working on it. On a lighter note, the Swedish princess jokingly pointed out that she, however, made it to the show, referring to the actual interview, People reports.

It was Madeleine’s first ever joint television interview with her husband. The couple was featured in the talk show along with celebrity chef Jamie Oliver and British singer Adele. The Norwegian-Swedish talk show hosted by Norwegian journalist Fredrik Skavlan was telecast on Dec.11.

In a preview clip released by the show, the royal couple, along with Adele and Oliver, wish viewers Merry Christmas in Swedish. The four also wished viewers in Norwegian.

Madeleine and her husband reportedly prefer to lead a low-key lifestyle away from the limelight. The couple is currently based in London, where they moved in September due to the latter’s job. Madeleine has been on a maternity break since Nicolas’ birth in June. The Swedish princess is currently busy spending time with her daughter Princess Leonore and her son in London.
