Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp was all hails for striker Charlie Austin after the latter delivered the winning goal for the Rs against Sunderland.

The 25-year-old calmly placed the ball at the back of the net from a Leroy Fer headed assist following a corner.

"There are lots of strikers that have come out of lower-league football," said Redknapp.

"Obviously recently there's the likes of Rickie Lambert and before that Kevin Phillips, and it's great to see that hopefully chances are still there to move through the levels."

"And hopefully Charlie can be another who does the same thing in the long term. He took his goal very well, it's great for him."

Austin started out with non-league clubs before he was snatched by Swindon Town in 2009. He helped Burnley get back to the Premier League last season, tallying 19 goals and 3 assists in the Championship.
