In a little over a month, Pippa Middleton will wed fiancé James Matthews in what is suspected to be an intimate yet lavish affair. But some of the bigger details -- such as her wedding party -- is still unknown at this point.

Many have put the Duchess of Cambridge out of the running as her sister’s bridesmaid since she could theoretically steal the spotlight from the bride. As such, it has been speculated that Kate Middleton will be a reader during the ceremony instead. But while this is the general understanding at this point, Pop Sugar has noted that Pippa might just surprise everyone by still choosing Kate to walk down the aisle with her.

Another suspect that might play the coveted role is Lucy Middleton, who is Pippa’s cousin from one of her father’s brothers. Kate and Pippa are reportedly very close to their cousins, so choosing among their paternal side of the family is a definite possibility.

Should Pippa choose to stay away from familia ties, then Thierry Kelaart is onepossibility. Thierry and Pippa met in Edinburgh University, which they both attended, and have stayed close ever since. So much so that it was Pippa and Kate’s father, Michael Middleton, who gave Thierry away at her wedding in 2012.

Another friend from Edinburgh University is Camilla Champion-Awwad. Camilla has been seen on vacation with Pippa quite frequently and is even a regular visitor to the Middleton family home. She is also one of Pippa's remaining unwed girlfriends, so Camilla is definitely in the running.

A friend that Pippa has known for over 15 years is Camilla Hook. Pippa played a big role in Camilla’s wedding in 2012 as she helped organize the entire celebration, as well as read during the reception. The 33-year-old socialite even put on an apron at the end of the night and served bacon sandwiches to the guests. It would be understandable if Camilla returned the favour and played a notable role in Pippa’s nuptials as well.

However, Elle UK has reported that Princess Charlotte will serve as Pippa’s bridesmaid next month. Charlotte is only two years old, but choosing a younger relative to walk down the aisle might be a tradition for the Middleton family. Kate had three-year-old Elize Lopes, who is the Duchess of Cornwall’s granddaughter, as her bridesmaid in 2011.

Pippa is set to marry James on May 20 at St Mark’s Englefield in Berkshire. A reception will follow at the Middleton home in Bucklebury.
