“The OA” creators Brit Marling and Zal Batmangli already have plans for the sophomore season of the series. Batmangli said she and Marling have already figured out the whole thing.

“The whole thing’s a riddle. There are a lot of clues. Very few people have really picked up on all the clues,” Batmangli teased.

In an interview with Variety, Marling spilled that they have “spent a good three years just cobbling the mathematics of the labyrinth of a mind-bender that could go for many, many hours.”

The second season of “The OA” is expected to answer so many questions that its first instalment has left fans, including why French (Brandon Perea) breaks into the house of Pairie (Marling).

Another question that season 2 of “The OA” may answer is who Prairie’s parents are. It was established that before the lead character met her adoptive family, she lived in Russia with her father. She claimed that the Voi, a Russian mafia group, arranged a bus accident. That was the first time she encountered a near-death experience.

It was made to appear that her father subsequently sent her away so he can protect her. Prairie claimed that her father was killed while he was trying to hide. However, that part in Prairie’s story did not get a concrete explanation. If it’s true that her father is really dead, then where could her mother be?

Moreover, the next season might finally answer what “OA” means. In the show, Marling’s character is also known as the OA. Some fans were guessing that it means Original Angel. However, when Marling was asked if it really is the true meaning of OA, she said any interpretation is actually correct. “If we get to keep telling the story, all those different definitions will evolve,” she said. Fans in Australia can catch “The OA” season 1 on Netflix.
