Nokia is gearing up for a grand 2017 as the mobile maker is returning to what it became known for. The Nokia Android phones are widely-anticipated at the Mobile World Congress 2017 in late February. Reports suggest that Nokia would be releasing its D1C smartphone early 2017 that will sport a 5.5-inch screen though the smartphone name will definitely change.

The Nokia D1C handset may come in two versions, one with a 5.5-inch screen and the other with a smaller 5-inch screen. PhoneArena reports both models should have 1080 x 1920 pixel screen resolution though the larger variant will sport a 3GB RAM and the smaller version 2GB. The larger Nokia Android variant may also come with a 16MP primary camera and the smaller one will have 13MP primary camera.

Both the Nokia Android smartphones will have certain common features such as Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, 16GB internal memory, 8MP front camera and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. If reports about the two Nokia Android smartphone variants turn out to be true, it seems Nokia is trying to catch the mid-range phone market first. In that case, the two phones will come at attractive prices.

HMD Global, the company rumoured to be behind the Nokia Android smartphones, has confirmed that it would be attending the event. All this point towards a launch of the Nokia Android smartphones and fans are naturally excited. HMD Global is reportedly bringing back Nokia into the mobile business and Foxconn will be manufacturing the Nokia smartphones.

Earlier reports have also suggested that Nokia is also working on a high-end smartphone that could have either a 5.2-inch or 5.5-inch display. As per TechWorm, it will be a Nokia flagship that will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor though a Snapdragon 835 chipset seems more plausible.
