Moto G and Nexus 5 are both android smartphones that offer a low price with better features. The buyer would have to make a tough choice considering the fact that both the New Moto G and the Nexus 5 have a close semblance to each other in terms of functionality and look.

Design

In terms of the design both smartphones run on Android KitKat 4.4.4.The display of Moto G is 141.5 x 70.7 x 11 mm while the Nexus 5 has a display of 137.84 x 69.17 x 8.59 mm. The Moto G's display is larger than the Nexus 5 but the Nexus is slim, compact and lighter with the thickness of 8.59 mm and weighs 130 g. Moto G weighs 149 g considering the average weight of a smartphone is 138 g, it is a bit heavier than the Nexus. The look of the Nexus 5 is better than Moto G. However, the Moto G is rugged.

Display

The size of the Moto G display is 5 inches with a resolution of 720 x 1280 p. It has a pixel density of 294 ppi with IPS LCD technology including light sensor, proximity sensor and scratch resistant corning glass. The display size of the Nexus 5 is 4.95 inches with resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 p. The pixel density is 445 ppi and IPS Full HD. It too sports a scratch resistant corning glass. When both these specifications are compared the display of the Nexus 5 is more superior in terms of display than the Moto G. But it is the choice of the buyer, even if there is a difference between the two displays Moto G is offering an unbelievable price than the Nexus 5.

Camera

The Moto G sports an 8 mega pixel camera at the rear and a 2 mega pixel front camera. Whereas, Nexus 5's rear camera is 8 mega pixel and a 1.3 mega pixel front cam with image stabilizer. The camera is almost the same in both the devices.

Hardware

Moto G runs on Snapdragon 400 Quad-core, 1,200 MHz Processor with Adreno 302. The system memory has 1 GB RAM, with 16 GB built in storage with microSD expandable up to 32 GB. Nexus 5 works on Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, 2.26GHz processor and GPU Adreno 330, 450MHz with 2 GB of RAM. The Nexus is packed with a powerful processor when compared to the Moto G. However, that being said the only flaw that can be found in the Nexus 5 is its storage capacity that is not expandable. It has 16 GB of internal storage and another variant with 32 GB.

The other specifications are almost the same for both smartphones, but when these two phones are compared, the Moto G sport has a bigger display. Well the other specification may not match up to the Nexus 5 but with its unbelievable price in the market it would definitely be a best seller in the Android market as it is a very small price to pay for such a handset. The New Moto G with expandable memory is available for $ 180, while the 16 GB Nexus 5 costs $ 349 and the 32 GB costs $ 399.
