The biggest upgrade of the device is packing a 4K screen panel. The actual resolution is 3072 x 2304 pixels and the screen uses LED backlight and IPS technology. Moreover, the tablet will be powered by A8 64-bit processor.

According to Concept Phones, iPad Pro targeted users of MacBook as rumours claimed that iPad Pro is a tablet-laptop hybrid. The upcoming tablet also targets professionals, especially the business and education sector. The concept image retained the iconic Home button that could be embedded with TouchID fingerprint sensor. The speakers and Lightning port are placed at the bottom of the device. As for the apps, there could be dedicated apps for the device available in the App Store.

Rumours have stated that iPad Pro will come in two variants with different resolutions. Both models will pack 12.9-inch screen panel but will come with 2K and 4K display resolution, respectively. Moreover, an Apple patent hinted that the tablet's bezels may be hyper-sensitive and the iPad Pro will pack pressure sensors on the bezels that may replace the physical home button.

As for the iPad Pro release date, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the tablet will be launched in 2015 as the second generation of iPad Air will be released this year. Kuo also added that no iPad Mini 3 will be released later this year. Other reports claimed that iPad Pro may arrive this year either in June at Worldwide Developers' Conference or in October just like last year's launch.
