A somber mood fills Ramsay Street on the upcoming episode of “Neighbours.” On Wednesday, Mark Brennan’s (Scott McGregor) loved ones are wrought with worry as his life continues to be in jeopardy. It may be interesting to see whether Stephanie Scully (Carla Bonner) realises that she loves Mark enough to move in with him after he survives the whole ordeal.

While Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson) is also highly concerned about his brother, he also has another thing to think about. He wants Paige Smith (Olympia Valance) to withdraw from the match against a professional boxer, but she insists on pushing through with it. Other “Neighbours” cast members who will also appear on the Sept. 7 episode include Tyler Brennan (Travis Burns), Charlie Hoyland (Alexander McGuire), Sonya Rebecchi (Eve Morey), Jarrod “Toadie” Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney), Karl Kennedy (Alan Fletcher), Amy Williams (Zoe Cramond) and Jack Callahan (Andrew Morley).

“Neighbours” also stars Brad Willis (Kip Gamblin), Lauren Turner (Kate Kendall), Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou), Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis), Piper Willis (Mavournee Hazel), Elly Conway (Jodi Anasta), Ned (Ben Hall), Madison Robinson (Sarah Ellen), Gary Canning (Damien Richardson), Ben Ian Kirk (Felix Mallard), Xanthe Canning (Lilly Van Der Meer), Sheila Canning (Colette Mann), Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne) and Jimmy Williams (Darcy Tadich).

“Neighbours” posted a sneak peek of Wednesday’s episode on its Facebook page. In the clip, Karl informs Steph, Aaron and Tyler that Mark’s situation looks dire. It seems that the knife has punctured Mark’s lung, which puts pressure against his heart that may lead to a heart attack. Steph is beside herself with worry and Mark’s brothers assured her that Mark would get through it. Digital Spy reports that Charlie, on the other hand, feels responsible for putting Mark’s life on harm’s way. Despite being comforted by Toadie, Charlie vents his anger at Nell.

Spoilers also suggest that Paige decides to go ahead with the fight against Angelina. During training, her opponent turns up and warns that Paige would lose and end up in the hospital.

“Neighbours” recap

On Tuesday, Amy and Jack lashed out at Mark at the police station about the bug he planted inside the confessional. His boss overheard the confrontation and suspended Mark while an investigation was launched about his breach of the anti-surveillance act.

Steph and Belinda were experiencing cabin fever at the safe house. Steph was worried that with the whole incident, Max would take Charlie away from her. Steph had an anxiety attack and Belinda comforted her. Later, when Steph was asleep, Belinda sneaked out – finding it too much being cooped up with Steph in a small room. At Brennans’ home, Tyler raised the possibility that Belinda could’ve been working with Ari all along. When Mark found out that Belinda left the safe house, he suspected Tyler may be right. Steph also discovered from Ellen that Mark is suspended, and they went out to track him down.

Meanwhile, Charlie went off the yard to look for his drone. He bumped into Belinda, and it’s not long before Ari appeared. It seemed that Ari texted Belinda and he was surprised to see she turned up. Belinda said she’s there because she wants to know why Ari was following Steph. Charlie took Belinda’s phone while she talked to Ari. Charlie sent an SOS message to Steph, but Ari caught him. Ari threw away the phone and took out a knife, scaring both Belinda and Charlie.

Ari then held Belinda and Charlie hostage just as Mark and Ellen arrived. Mark tried to negotiate with the deranged man, who was sputtering nonsense. Ari got distracted when he heard the police sirens, and Mark took that opportunity to tackle him. A fight ensued between the two men, and while they were able to pin down Ari and handcuff him, Mark ended up being stabbed.

Aaron managed to book a match for Paige against champion boxer Angelina Jackson. Lauren expressed her worries and questioned why such a professional would want to fight against an unknown boxer. Aaron said that it’s a done deal and Tyler tried to assure her that Paige would be ready. Later, however, Aaron found out that Angelina’s former sparring partner ended up in the hospital with serious injuries. However, Aaron couldn’t withdraw Paige from the match because he’s bound by the contract. When Aaron and Tyler tried to haggle with Angelina’s handler, he said that the fight could be cancelled – as long as they still pay Angelina’s appearance fee.
