Close calls and big secrets hound Ramsay Street on the last episode of “Neighbours” for the week. On Friday, Mark Brennan (Scott McGregor) is still reeling from Stephanie Scully’s (Carla Bonner) latest accident. He’s having a hard time accepting that he almost lost Steph once again. As a result, he reckons it’s time to shift things around and think more about their future.

Spoilers hint that Mark’s sudden turnaround may include his much-awaited decision about Sonya Rebecchi’s (Eve Morey) offer to carry their baby. Another thing to watch out for on the upcoming run is Amy Williams’ (Zoe Cramond) budding romance with David Tanaka (Takaya Honda). Things get complicated when the doctor’s preference becomes questionable. Other “Neighbours” cast members who will also appear on the Oct. 14 episode include Jarrod “Toadie” Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney), Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson), Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou), Gary Canning (Damien Richardson), Sheila Canning (Colette Mann) and Leo Tanaka (Tim Kano).

“Neighbours” also stars Karl Kennedy (Alan Fletcher), Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne), Brad Willis (Kip Gamblin), Lauren Turner (Kate Kendall), Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) and Tyler Brennan (Travis Burns), Piper Willis (Mavournee Hazel), Ben Ian Kirk (Felix Mallard), Xanthe Canning (Lilly Van Der Meer), Elly Conway (Jodi Anasta), Paige Smith (Olympia Valance), Ned Willis (Ben Hall) and Jack Callahan (Andrew Morley).

“Neighbours” posted a sneak peek of Friday’s episode on its Facebook page. In the clip, Terese is shocked to see Sheila at the door – she and Gary spent the night together at one of the Lassiters room. Gary quickly hides as Terese talks to Sheila, who barges inside. Sheila goes on and rants about how Terese is treating her employees, particularly her and Gary. As Sheila is talking a mile away, Terese pretends to listen to her while Gary sneaks out of the room.

In another video, David tells Amy that he had a good time. Amy replies by confessing to David about her previous work – cleaning houses in her lingerie for money. She then tells him that she likes him and David responses by giving her a kiss. Digital Spy reports that Aaron is puzzled with David’s mixed messages. Aaron tries to caution Amy, but she doesn’t believe him.

Spoilers also suggest that Mark takes time off from work to be with Steph, who’s still recovering from her accident. Realising that he almost lost Steph, Mark finally comes to a decision about the Rebecchis’ surrogacy offer.

“Neighbours” recap

On Thursday, Susan assured Karl that what he did to Regan was the right thing – he tried to save her. It was unfortunate that she died, Susan said, but she insisted it wasn’t his fault. Unknown to them, Jacka overheard their conversation. Later, Jacka confirmed with David whether it was Regan who died at the balloon crash. When David didn’t answer, Jacka took his silence as a yes and became terribly upset.

As Jacka walked away, Paul spotted him. Paul immediately rushed to Paige’s room and told her about it. He said he already informed security, but Paige wanted to go to her mum’s room – Jacka might go there and hurt Lauren. Meanwhile, Jacka went to a room and found a plastic bag with Regan’s belongings. He turned emotional as he expressed regret over what he did. Paige arrived, along with Paul, Aaron and Tyler. Jack tried to run away but the Brennan brothers worked together to stop him. The security escorted Jacka away, but he saw Karl and lashed at him, blaming him for Regan’s death. “You killed her! It’s your fault,” Jacka accused Karl. Later, Karl turned to Susan for comfort. He told her about the complaint filed against him and the possibility that he’ll be charged with medical malpractice. He said at worst, he’d lose his medical license.

Amy confronted Paul and Jimmy about the kid’s drone found by the street. Paul took Amy outside to talk and told her that it was Jimmy’s drone which caused Steph’s motorcycle accident. Jimmy eavesdropped on their conversation and could not believe his ears – he put Steph’s life in danger. Amy and Paul accompanied Jimmy as he came forward to the police. However, it turned out that Jimmy wasn’t at fault. Despite things turning out to their favour, Amy was still seething mad at Paul for lying to her and told him she can’t trust Jimmy with him.

Meanwhile, Jack was feeling guilty about what she did and underplayed the fact that he saved Paige’s life. Later, he went to visit Paige and told her that he’ll go to Brisbane for a few days to talk things through with the church. He felt guilty for leaving her while she’s recovering, but she assured him to take all the time he needs. The two professed their love for each other and they shared a romantic kiss.

At the hospital, Amy and David had coffee and she confided in on him about Paul. David, on the other hand, talked about Leo, who seemed to be the same as Paul. Later, Amy went to The Waterhole and was approached by Aaron. She urged him to invite David there to look at his injuries, but Aaron realised her real motive: she’s interested in David. Aaron used her phone to text David to meet her and he agreed.

Amy was waiting for David when his brother showed up, attempting to make a move on her again. Amy informed Leo that she’s meeting his brother for a date. Leo was surprised and it looked like he’s about to give up on Amy. However, he also said, “If you ask me, you’re going for the wrong brother,” making her giggle. Meanwhile, Aaron saw David at the hospital and the doctor volunteered to look at his injuries. Aaron tried to build Amy up with David. However, Aaron felt something with David – a spark of attraction. David must have felt it too and quickly excused himself, leaving Aaron confused.
