"NCIS" Season 12 production has officially begun for the cast of the hit CBS series, as stars gather for the table read. Fans are still awaiting some Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) updates, so here are some developments that Ziva must know. Meanwhile, Ms de Pablo snags a new TV role on CBS, and she will be working with another "Mark" in the business.

"If Tony's (Michael Weatherly) in a personal relationship or there's something significant happening for him and he wondered how [Cote de Pablo's Ziva David] would respond, then maybe we can figure out a way (for Tony and Ziva to talk)," NCIS showrunner Gary Glasberg has been quoted as saying earlier this year.

The statement above is Mr Glasberg's response to spoken observations that it seems unnatural for Tony and Ziva to hold off communication for so long (considering how they parted ways in NCIS Season 11, Episode 2).

"You are so... loved," Ziva tells Tony in NCIS 11x2 ("Past, Present, and Future"). This is where Cote de Pablo was last seen as the much loved Ziva David.

NCIS Season 11 Review: What Ziva David Should Know

Still, as much as Ziva loved Tony, he is not her only concern in NCIS. Here are some of the things that Tony should be telling Ziva about in NCIS Season 12:

1. Gibbs' father, Mr Jackson Gibbs (the late Ralph Waite), has died. This sad new is the central story in the NCIS Season 11 finale.

2. Parsa (Karan Oberoi) is gone. It is only natural for Tony to tell Ziva this "good news." Parsa, mentioned in NCIS Season 10, is the last villain that NCIS had to deal with before Ziva left the agency.

3. Tony was in France -- again. Tony and Ziva will always have the memories of Paris, France. Tony getting sent to France on a mission in the penultimate episode of NCIS Season 11 brings a lot of Ziva David memories to the avid fans.

Perhaps Ellie Bishop is not a very important update, let alone a Ziva David concern. But above are three of the things that Tony DiNozzo could share with Ziva David in NCIS Season 12 - just in case EP Glasberg decides it is time to have the two beloved characters talk.

On Twitter, Michael Weatherly shows support for Cote de Pablo's new project on CBS. (See his tweet below.) For eight years in NCIS, Cote worked with Mark Harmon, who played Leroy Jethro Gibbs. In her new project, Cote is working with another Mark, this time producer Mark Burnett (and his wife Roma Downey).

Cote de Pablo will star in a 4-hour miniseries on CBS. Titled "The Dovekeepers," the project "is based on Alice Hoffman's historical novel," according to The Hollywood Reporter. "Set in ancient Israel, 'The Dovekeepers' is based on the true events at Masada in 70 C.E."
