“My Kitchen Rules” contestant Adam Andersen has replied to the accusations of his ex-wife that he doesn’t visit his five children with her. However, the former tennis pro, who competes in the show with new wife Carol Molloy, failed to address allegations that he owes $36,000 in child support payment or that he knew chef Pete Evans even before the show began.

“Any split from a former wife is going to be tough and yeah it is tough,” Adam told TV Week, admitting that his kids, who are from eight to 16, live with Cindy and this situation is “not ideal.” “Things end because both parties are unhappy. If everything was great we’d still be together.”

Cindy gave an interview to Channel Nine’s “A Current Affair,” claiming that contrary to Adam and Carol’s bio on MKR’s website, he does not visit his children often. In fact, he does not visit them at all and he has zero relationship with them.

“We get no financial support at all,” Cindy, who was married to Adam for 20 years, said in the program. She showed a document stating Adam owes $36,000 to child support agency for amounts accrued in the past year. She also alleged that Adam blocked her number, as well as their two older children’s numbers.

Even before they split, Adam apparently never played an active role in their children’s lives. “He was always gone so early in the morning and come home very late at night when he lived here. But basically, his role now is non-existent; he’s pretty much wiped his hands clean off the children.”

Ex-Wife Claims Adam Is A Deadbeat Dad Who Knew Judge Pete Evans Prior To Show’ Start [VIDEOS]

Being a deadbeat dad is a bad thing, but the personal lives of contestants have little bearing to their standing in MKR. What Cindy claimed next in her interview might change that, however. She said Adam knew Pete prior to joining MKR because not only did he coach the chef’s tennis lessons, he also worked at Pete’s restaurant at Kings Cross, Hugo’s.

“It is such a conflict of interest,” Cindy said, adding that Adam even boasted to his children that his tennis student was Pete. And when her marriage to him ended, Adam started working at Hugo’s to supplement his income.

Adam has not responded to this allegation, although Seven Network earlier released a denial, saying Pete, a judge on the show, never had tennis lessons from Adam. “They met for the first time on the program,” a spokesperson told the Daily Mail.
