The Motorola Droid 4 features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It is a 5-row keyboard with a dedicated numbers row and utilizes edge backlighting and it is also compatible with Motorola's Lapdocks. The Motorola Droid 4 also offers 4G connectivity via Verizon's 4G LTE network. The Motorola Droid 4 is described to be a "hybrid" device because it does not have many upgrades as compared to previous Droid models. It combines most of the popular features of the Droid 3 and Droid RAZR. One of which is the same water-repellant coating to protect the phone against spills and the use of qHD display technology which is similar to the Droid 3. Despite these similarities, the Droid 4 display is smaller if compared to Motorola Razr which measures around 4 inches.
The Operating Software that will be used for Motorola Droid 4 is Android but the exact version that will be used is still unknown. Some reports speculate that since it will be launched at the same day with Samsung Galaxy Nexus, it would utilize the latest Android version which is Android 4.0 or Android Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). The Motorola Droid 4 is speculated to be released on Dec. 8, 2011 through Verizon Wireless.
Both Motorola and Verizon have not released any official statement regarding the supposed release of Motorola Droid 4.
