'Modern Family' Season 06 Episode 15 Recap: 'Fight or Flight'

In episode 15 of ABC’s “Modern Family” entitled “Fight or Flight” Claire and Phil are stuck on a flight home from Phil’s reunion with his cheer buddies. Meanwhile, Gloria is pressuring Jay to teach her son Manny to fight back against a school bully.
After spending a miserable weekend camping with Phil and his cheer group buddies, Claire is exhausted. She had been making an effort to make Phil think that she was having a good time and she feels drained. On the flight home, they get offered one upgraded seat to first class so Claire grabs the opportunity.
Everything seems great for Claire when she finds herself sitting beside a beautiful classy woman. The woman offers her a drink and lends her a soft neck pillow. She starts to think that she is about to go on a comfortable and relaxing flight away from Phil and all his crazy buddies. Meanwhile, Phil is stuck in coach where he is forced to squeeze into a middle seat.
Things start to take a turn for the worst for Claire when she discovers that the woman beside her is actually a rude alcoholic. The woman starts to get drunk and starts becoming loud and disrespectful to the flight crew and the other passengers. On the other hand, Phil is delighted to learn that he is seated next to a very popular magician. The guy shows off some tricks to Phil’s delight. The woman sitting on his other side turns out to be a masseuse and she offers him back rubs. Claire tries to switch seats with him but he tells her that coach is hell and she should just go back to first class.
Over at the Tucker-Pritchett household, Mitch and Cam decide to throw their friend Sal a baby shower. The former party girl surprises them and acts like a responsible mother. Midway through the shower, Sal disappears and the group fears the worst about her. They start to think that she has abandoned her child. Mitch and Cam start to consider adopting the baby boy but their friends Pepper and Ronaldo feel that they should be the ones to adopt. Sal returns and walks in on them as they are arguing. She admits to them that she doesn’t know what she’s doing. All four guys then decide that they can all act as the child’s father in order to support Sal.
The Delgados have a problem of their own. Gloria is afraid that Manny is scared of going to his cooking class because of a bully. She pressures Jay to teach Manny how to fight back but Jay isn’t convinced it will help Manny. He does what Gloria wants anyway and starts to show Manny how to throw a punch. When Manny ends up punching a boy in school, he immediately regrets it when he learns that the kid’s parents were going through a divorce.
Meanwhile, Luke starts acting like a typical male teenager and his sisters Haley and Alex attempt to coach him. Their attempts to sort out his loveife backfire and they start to wonder if they should start to rethink their own dating strategies. Modern Family airs Wednesdays on ABC.
