Mayim Bialik of "Big Bang Theory" is suing over a car accident that injured her hand. While Bialik sustained injuries, she denies rumours that the accident almost cost her her hand. TMZ reported August 2012 that Bialik nearly lost her hand.

According to a report by UPI, Mayim Bialik was involved in a car accident in 2012 and explained that she is still recovering. The "Big Bang Theory" star who plays Amy Farrah Fowler is suing the driver of a Hertz-Rent-a-Car vehicle and the company itself.

She was driving her Volvo when it was hit by a 2013 Mustang. At the time of the accident, a source of TMZ said there was blood at the crash scene coming from Bialik's hand. The car that caused the accident was filled with Chilean tourists, sources say. Bialik is asking for money lost for not being able to go to work and is filing for damages as well. The damages could really add up, according to the report, because she reportedly earns five figures per episode of "Big Bang Theory."

The 37-year-old actress was able to return to her show but her hand is still injured, reports say. Aside from her hand injuries, Mayim Bialik also suffered from nerve damage because of the road mishap.

Despite her lawsuit, the actress is still busy with other things including attending the GLSEN Respect Awards where she shared that she was bullied when she was a young girl.

Mayim Bialik plays the role of neuroscientist Amy Farrah Fowler in "Big Bang Theory." But what is interesting about Bialik is that she is has a degree in Neuroscience in real life, too. Bialik took up the course at UCLA as well as taking degrees in Jewish and Hebrew studies.

Although armed with a Ph.D. in neuroscience, Mayim Bialik returned to acting. Mayim Bialik started acting in the latter part of the 80s when she was still a young girl.
