Australia's High Life Expectancy May be Shortened with Rising Obesity Rates

Australians may have a longer life expectancy but health experts warn obesity and type 2 diabetes can affect future statistics. Health experts from the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) have released its final report on the country's healthcare reform in five years. The council was one of the organisations axed because of the new budget.

Beyonce and Jay Z might want to keep their daughter Blue Ivy's hair "natural" but there are people who think otherwise and have even signed a petition against protecting the child's hair from the "cruelty." The petition, which reads "Comb Blue Ivy's Hair," has already garnered more than 2000 (and counting) signatures from people who support it. The two year old daughter of Jay Z and Queen Bey is often pictured with her unruly and uncombed hair.

Brazil Fights Dengue Fever with Mutated Mosquitoes

Brazil has recently approved the use of genetically mutated mosquitoes to counter its country's high dengue fever count of at least 1.4 million cases ever year. Given that there's no vaccine for the disease at the moment, the researchers hope to eradicate the spread of the disease by releasing the mutated male mosquitoes (which don't bite humans) into the wild and mate with the female mosquitoes (the ones that bite and carry the disease).
