The South Korean multinational LG launched its flagship smartphone, the G3, on May 27, 2014. The exact release date of LG's flagship G3 pertaining to the U.S. and the UK markets are revealed.

The release date for the U.S. is slated for July 17, 2014 and the pre-orders would start on July 10, according to the credible tipster @Evleaks. In addition to Verizon, all prominent US network carriers will offer LG G3. This includes T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T. Even though, Verizon will start shipping the LG G3 on July 17, other carriers would ship only by late July, according to Ecumenical News.

Meanwhile, the LG G3 release date pertaining to the UK market is set for June 28, which is much earlier than the U.S. market release. Interested readers can pre-order LG G3 in gold and black shades for £479 and £470 respectively. The available LG G3 variant in the UK market is the 2 GB RAM model with 16 GB internal storage. The other LG G3 variant, 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage is not currently available in the UK market, says Android Central.

It is worth noting that, the G3 was well received in South Korean markets. The latest G3 even trumped the predecessor G2's sales record with doubled sales digits within the first week of its launch, says Ecumenical News. The LG shipped 133,000 units of G3 within a week and 14,000 units on the launch day. Going by the records, the LG G3 also trumped Samsung Galaxy S5's sales record in Asia. Interestingly, the Samsung Galaxy S5 shipped only 7,500 units on the launch day.

LG G3 Specifications

The LG G3 features a 5.5 inches Quad HD display with a whopping 1,440 x 2,560 pixels resolution. The LG G3 is powered by a quad-core Krait 400 (Qualcomm Snapdragon 801) processor, clocked at 2.5 GHz and it comes with a 2 GB of RAM (if opted for 16 GB of storage) and a 3 GB of RAM (If opted for 32 GB of storage). Also, the LG G3 comes in 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage with microSD card slot for expansion up to 128 GB.

The phone houses a 13 MP rear-facing camera and a 2 MP front-facing camera. In addition, the LG G3 can shoot 4K (3,840 x 2,160) videos. The LG G3 houses a solid user-replaceable 3000 mAh battery unit. The phone runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat on top of LG's Optimus UI. Additionally, the device supports NFC.
