Kid Rock attempts to take T.I.'s music in a "very different direction" by collaborating with the hip hop star.

The American singer-songwriter and the rapper has teamed up to put a "bluesy vibe" for T.I.'s new record.

"I've done a track with T.I. called 'Wanted'. I took him in a very different direction with steel guitars. It's a very bluesy country-fried vibe," Rock told the Daily Star newspaper.

"Then we put these big beats on it and he just blazed it."

The track, which will be included in T.I.'s comeback album called "King Uncaged", started out as a mash-up with Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive."

Rock, who helped out Bon Jovi during their stay at the 02 Arena in London, explained, "Me and Jon (Bon Jovi) had talked about mashing up my song 'Cowboy' with Bon Jovi's 'Wanted Dead or Alive'. T.I. heard it and really wanted to run with it."

"But we changed the whole track so there are no elements of those songs, except for the word 'Wanted'."

The new record will also include a collaboration with pop star Lady Gaga.

T.I., who was recently released from prison following his 2007 conviction for weapons charges, recently said: "She knows what she's doing. She knows exactly what she wants people to think and say. She does everything that she needs to."

"I think she's an entertainer, in all aspects of the word. She's a classic, all-round entertainer. A global star."
